The Pioneer

£280.00

The Pioneer was designed as a hard-use outdoor and utility blade built around one simple idea: reliability.

Named after the military pioneers and field engineers of WW2. The men working ahead of the line clearing routes, building positions, processing timber and making hostile ground usable. Tough, skilled work that demanded resilience, practicality and discipline.

The Pioneer is built to be carried, used and relied on. Whether it’s camp craft, shelter work, fire prep, hunting, general field tasks or everyday outdoor use, the design focuses on control, strength and versatility without unnecessary bulk.

Every blade is handmade in Britain from British 1084 high carbon steel and heat treated to 59–60 HRC for an excellent balance of toughness, edge retention and ease of maintenance. At 4mm thick, the Pioneer has the strength for demanding work while maintaining clean cutting performance and a responsive feel in the hand.

The blade profile gives enough belly for skinning and field use while still retaining a strong, controllable point and enough edge length for utility tasks around camp. It is a knife built to adapt to the environment around it.

Like every Mad Jack blade, the Pioneer is shaped, ground and finished by hand. No mass production. No shortcuts. Just proper materials, proper process and attention to detail from start to finish.

Available in a wide range of handle materials, finishes and sheath options, each Pioneer can be configured to suit its owner while still keeping the core identity of the blade intact.

This is not a knife built to sit on a shelf.

It is built to earn wear, scars and stories over time and to still be trusted years later.
